Reports to: Account Operations Director/Client Service ManagerPosition SummaryTranslator is a written translating position based in Williams Lea office or client site to provide support for all Williams Lea clients, required to efficiently translate economic / sector / company research reports from English to Chinese and Chinese to English. This position requires excellent Chinese / English capabilities, solid prior experience and ability to work independently or with little supervision.Primary Responsibilities1. Follow clients' requests exactly and accurately process clients' projects, working within strict time constraints and deadlines2. Coordinate incoming requests, including: assessing completion time, determining required capacity and advising best work flow method3. Assign/distribute jobs among vendors4. Use job tracking software to log in and out of all tasks assigned for internal tracking purposes5. Contribute to our onsite translation team through cooperation and participation6. Meet tight deadlines7. Communicate and interact with clients in a professional, positive and courteous manner8. Exhibit a professional decorum at all timesDesirable QualificationsExperiences of ibank documentation translation highly preferredExcellent command of Chinese and EnglishIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteUniversity graduate majoring in English / Chinese Translation, Linguistics or 5 years' relevant work experience and ideally graduate in business/finance or related disciplineSolid translation experienceAbility to work well in a highly confidential environmentAble to work and deliver quality output under pressure and tight timelineKnowledge of financial services industry a plusStrong customer service skills and professionalismBasic knowledge of the PC platform, understanding of Windows XPKnowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Microsoft Word - IntermediateAbility to learn and conform to any new work proceduresWilling to work overtime, weekends and holidays at minimal notice when requiredSpeedy Chinese/English word-processing input (40 cpm / 45 wpm)
